Greeting Members
As the holiday season approaches, I’d like to take a moment to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! This time of year, is perfect for reflection, appreciation, and, of course, celebrating with loved ones. Our office will be closed from 18th December 2024 to 13th January 2025 and will re-open to assist you with any enquiries as normal.
For those who’ve been impacted by the ongoing GCLRS3 construction works, I have some good news! The construction works will be temporarily paused over the Christmas holidays, providing some much-needed respite for motorists. Starting from 13th December, the roadworks will be on hold and will resume on 6th January 2025. This break should make your holiday travels a bit smoother and allow some much-needed respite for motorists.
As the weather heats up over the Christmas period, stay sun safe. Be sure to protect yourself from harmful UV rays by wearing sunscreen, hats, and protective clothing, and always stay hydrated. Our summer months can bring scorching temperatures, so make sure to take care of your health while enjoying the festivities.
In these challenging times, with the cost of living continuing to rise, as always, I encourage you to continue supporting local businesses. This Christmas, make an effort to shop locally, when possible, whether it’s for presents, food, or other essentials. Buying fresh local produce not only supports our community but also strengthens the economy, helping local businesses thrive during these tough times.
On a different note, I’m pleased to share that next week, the LNP will table the Making Community Safer Bill in Parliament. This new legislation will ensure that youth criminals will serve adult time for adult crimes. It’s a significant step forward in keeping our communities safe, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact this will have by Christmas.
As we wrap up this year, I want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for your ongoing support. I’m optimistic about the positive changes we’ll see in the electorate in the new year, and I look forward to continuing to work together to make our community an even better place.
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Enjoy the holiday season with family and friends!
As always, if you have any State issues you would like to discuss with me, don’t hesitate to contact my office.
